Students
The Culverhouse Faculty Scholars program is an ideal way for a student to initiate or continue a working relationship that has been established with a Culverhouse faculty member through the University of Alabama Emerging Scholars Program.
Responsibilities of participating students include:
- Commit approximately ten (10) hours per week to a research project with a Culverhouse faculty member (your Faculty Mentor).
- Attend regular meetings with your Faculty Mentor. Weekly or biweekly meetings are suggested at mutually agreed upon times.
- Attend regular meetings of all Faculty Scholars and Faculty Mentors.
- Complete in a satisfactory and timely manner work that is acceptable to both you and your Faculty Mentor.
- Be enrolled in a University of Alabama degree program and be registered for at least 6 credit hours during Fall and Spring semesters.
- Maintain a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) on coursework attempted at The University of Alabama.
- Make a conscientious effort to attend and participate in meetings and social functions associated with your appointment as a Faculty Scholar.
- Present the results of your research at the UA Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Conference (URCA) and the Culverhouse pre-URCA event in the spring semester.

Students selected for the Faculty Scholars program must submit a completed I-9 form as soon as possible after being selected for the program. Students cannot begin working as Faculty Scholars until doing so.
