Series Schedule & Information

Each session will be held from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm in the Alston Hall Parlor. We invite all Faculty Scholars, mentors, and other undergraduate students who are interested in academic careers. We ask that you register if you plan to attend a session.

Faculty & Careers

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST, 2021

This session  features a panel of faculty members who will discuss various aspects of college faculty careers. The purpose of this session and panel discussion is to help these students understand the nuances of academic careers and help them determine if they are interested in academic/research careers. The panel will feature two Assistant Professors, two Associate Professors, and two Full professors from across the college's disciplines, and will feature:

Program Coordinators

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021

This session features the coordinators of Manderson's eight PhD programs (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, and Statistics). Each coordinator will lead a breakout in which she or he will discuss requirements to enter the program, the curriculum, and other aspects of the program she or he coordinates.

Recent Graduates

This session features recent recipients of PhDs from Manderson's PhD programs. Each recent graduate will discuss her or his experiences in completing the degree, in the job market, and establishing herself or himself in the first academic position.

This session features students currently enrolled in Manderson's PhD programs. Each student will discuss what it is like to be a PhD student and what a prospective student should expect upon entering one of Manderson's PhD programs.
